About The Granville Project
This project is in service and dedication to my ancestors who braved the most horrific experience of slavery, yet survived. Their labor is the foundation of the wealth of the United States and must be recognized as such. May this website honor them and their legacy.
This database features the names of free and enslaved Black people found in six family and individual papers currently housed at Wilson Special Collections Library at UNC Chapel Hill and Marriages of Granville County, North Carolina, 1753-1868 by Brent H. Holcomb.
